This movie highlights one of the difficulties of this project. When a movie is consistently great, how do you pick just one highlight? Especially for a movie that’s full of great one-liners. I picked the facehugger scene because I think it encompasses all the greatness that is in this film. The acting is top notch, especially Ripley’s fighting against the facehugger and Newt’s pitch-perfect scream. The music, sound design, creature effects and editing perfectly add to the tension. As for tension, there are like 3 solid jump scares. This scene builds upon the terror that was established by Kane’s facehugger encounter in Alien. Just a great blend of horror and action that is Aliens.
